Wood Ministry

At Cornerstone, we have discovered a simple yet profound way to reach out to the community and share God's love. During the winter, some of our neighbours are faced with a choice between putting food on the table and heating their homes

We believe that God has called us to reach out to those around us; to reach out in love and meet the needs of those in difficult circumstances.

James 1:27 tells us that the "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."

Matthew 25:35,36,40 says, "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. The King will reply, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."

The wood ministry exists to gather workers, wood and equipment for the splitting, stacking and distribution of firewood for those in need.
